As usually in recent years I opened convention season with Zjava. This time it was Zjava 15, a nice anniversary. Sadly it fell on the same weekend as the final of Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy (Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity). Because of that I had to choose between convention and a smaller event held by my local club. It was a tough decision, and in the end I decided to go for the con.

I opened my 2025 convention season with Zjava 14 in Warszawa. As usually, it was a nice con with friendly atmosphere. Similarly to last year I didn’t play any games despite the con being a gaming event. Yet can I still call it that way?
My convention season opening for 2024 was Zjava 13 – a winter con run by the Avangarda society in Warsaw. It was a gaming con but somehow I didn’t play any game. Instead I had a great time – mainly through meeting people.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the ZjAva convention. I did not participate in all of the previous editions, but this one was not my first either. It is a con that concentrates on gaming (and, in my opinion, mainly on RPGs). With over 130 RPG sessions over the weekend it is currently, I believe, the biggest RPG event in Poland.

I started my convention year 2018 with ZjAva – a relatively big gaming convention in Warsaw. It is completely different than Lajconik I was describing last year, but at the same time both events have things in common. And those are games, of course.
