During the last few years Pyrkon has become an important convention for me (and for thousands other SFF fans in Poland). With the convention growing bigger and bigger my approach towards it have shifted, but it was – and still is – a convention I keepdoing my best to attend every year. Still, when writing about it now, I have to mention one issue. Pyrkon is too big for me to be able to grasp everything that goes on during this convention. My report below is not really a Pyrkon 2019 report. It is merely a report on a small part of the con.
Dragons invading Silesia – a report from ŚDF
Last year, Śląski Klub Fantastyki (Silesian SFF club) launched a new convention – Śląskie Dni Fantastyki (The Silesian SFF days, ŚDF). This year ŚDF took place for the second time. I had the pleasure to visit the convention and see all the dragons that were there.

ZjAva 10 – once again on playing RPGs at conventions
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the ZjAva convention. I did not participate in all of the previous editions, but this one was not my first either. It is a con that concentrates on gaming (and, in my opinion, mainly on RPGs). With over 130 RPG sessions over the weekend it is currently, I believe, the biggest RPG event in Poland.

2018 was an awesome year – how will the 2019 look like?
I am writing this in 2018, but when these words will appear online, we will all be in 2019. I should summarize my year here, but it is not an easy task. So many things have happened, so many of them were totally surprising – it is still difficult for me to grasp all these events. Yet I will try to provide you with a short description on how this year went for me.

Nordcon and the great surprise
Nordcon is a relaxacon that takes place near the year’s end. I like it, and ever since my first one, a few years back, I try to visit it every year. The good thing about this con is that I have a lot of time to talk and I do not feel like missing some important programme items.

Imladris XVII – the mathematical fuss
I really love Imladris. It is a convention that is very dear to me (my first SFF convention was Imladris, back in 2003). It is also a convention that has a really cool atmosphere. So how did it go this year at Imladris XVII?
Falkon – about a few complaints
I really hate when I need to complain about a convention. Well, maybe not when I need to complain, but when I have more complaints than good things to say. Unfortunately, this is the case with Falkon this year and I am really sad as I really like this convention.
Plansówki – a tiny convention with a great name
Sometimes, I do make mistakes when judging conventions. I have not attended first two editions of Plansówki. It was not because I had thought it was not a good convention. The issues of Polcon
Our natcon is not in the best shape right now. I don’t mean that the last one was bad or that last few were bad. Some of them were quite good, while others were not really as they should. Yet the problem manifests itself in a more complex way than having a mediocre Polcon once in a while. The problem is with the whole idea and we need to solve it. So what are the issues of Polcon?
Copernicon where the dice were rolling
This year, Copernicon was an experiment for me. Although I like RPGs I usually tend to avoid them during the “standard” conventions as I don’t want to miss other things that are happening at the con. I usually play Tabletop Role Playing Games at the dedicated conventions instead, like my favourite one – Lajconik. Yet this year I had to make an experiment. It is all Seji’s fault!
