In the beginning of July I attended the Bazyliszek 20024 by Avangarda Association in Warsaw. Comparing to the previous one I have been to (in 2022) a lot has changed. It seemed way bigger than before, and also way broader in the programme terms.
Pyrkon 2024 – A Good but Overwhelming Experience
Pyrkon 2024 was huge. Well it was not a surprise but it also felt a bit overwhelming to me. Seems I am way too tired this year and need some rest. Still I had a good time at the con even though it was a bit specific experience to me.

Seminarium Literackie ŚKF 2024 – A Happy Weekend
Seminarium Literackie is a small and cosy convention. Although I like it, I am not managing to visit it regularly. I was there in 2016 and 2019 so my visit two weeks ago was a third time. It was a special one, as this year I was nominated to the Śląkfa Award presented at the convention.

Lajconik 13 From Behind a Table
For years Lajconik was among my favourite conventions. Yet as I described last year I finally joined the team running it. Do I regret? Absolutely not! Making the convention happen is a big pleasure and I am glad I was able to help. It doesn’t mean I don’t want to return as an attendee – I want and I hope I will be able to switch the roles in the following years. How did it work out this year? Well the last word belongs to the members – I can only describe it from my limited perspective.
Śląskie Dni Fantastyki 2024 – A Short but Intense Convention
Śląskie Dni Fantastyki 2024 (ŚDF) lasted for two days. Yet for me they were even shorter. Because of some private matters I didn’t manage to travel to the con in the morning. I reached the convention venue around 3:30 PM on Saturday – very late for me. I was a bit concerned I would not have enough time to enjoy the ŚDF 2024 but my concerns were not valid.

KON_gres 2024 – Smoffing and Sightseeing
KON_gres 2024 was held in Gniezno. On one hand I was unhappy as it was quite far from Krakow. On the other hand it meant I was finally able to attend a convention by Fantasmagoria society. I wanted to attend their flagship con – Fantasmagoria for years. Yet it was always held in the dates when I couldn’t attend.
Zjava 13 – a gaming convention where I didn’t play
My convention season opening for 2024 was Zjava 13 – a winter con run by the Avangarda society in Warsaw. It was a gaming con but somehow I didn’t play any game. Instead I had a great time – mainly through meeting people.

Imladris XXI – An Excellent Weekend
Some days are bad and some are good. The weekend of Imladris XXI was definitely in the latter category. The convention felt exactly as it should. It was a good mixture of programme and socializing. I didn’t know what I needed before the con but during it I understood that I am in a right place.
Kapitularz Polconem – convention I needed
I was in a bad mood. Or at least not in the best mood. I was exhausted and there were moments when I felt like “why am I even going?” And Kapitularz Polconem changed my approach. It was a convention I needed!

Nordcon – relaxacon in the pandemic times
Last year I didn’t go to Nordcon. I had to resign because of the pandemic. Yet this year I decided to go. I was afraid – it is a long convention and it is a relaxacon. This means there is plenty of socializing which I love. Still the pandemic is not yet over (despite what the government states) and I was a bit concerned.
